The Adult Basic Education department exists to enable adult learners to be literate, productive, and successful in the workplace, home, and community by delivering comprehensive adult education instruction in a learner-centered, supportive, and collaborative environment.

On May 19, 2012, the Adult Basic Education Department held the Class of 2012 GED Commencement Ceremony at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. For the 2011-2012 school year there were a total of 188 students that acquired their GED via our program.
