This April, students in third through 10th grades throughout Texas will take the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness, or STAAR, which is designed to measure how well students have mastered the knowledge and skills for each particular grade level. The STAAR is more rigorous than past tests because it also measures whether a student is learning at a college ready level.
