ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Must have a four-year college degree or the equivalent (such as a titulo) from a regionally accredited college or university and supply at least two official transcripts from all colleges and universities where the applicant has received a degree and one official transcript from all colleges and universities attended if no degree was awarded.

If the university will not mail official transcripts to you, please include a letter with the name of the university, your name and social security number indicating which transcripts are forthcoming directly to us from the university. Those transcripts should be addressed to: Transcript Clerk, Dallas ISD-AC Program, 2909 North Buckner Blvd, 4th Floor, Dallas, TX 75228.

Graduates from foreign universities will need to provide additional documentation and must have their foreign degree and transcripts evaluated by a recognized foreign transcript evaluation company. See the International Applicants page. (Photocopies will not be accepted)

Must have an overall 2.5 grade point average .

If an applicant does not have a 2.5 overall grade point average, a 2.75 grade point average in the last 60 hours of coursework can be substituted.

Must have a 2.5 content grade point average in coursework.

Must also pass a basic skills test. Passing scores on the THEA or TASP, are:

Math - 230
Reading - 230
Writing - 220

Note: Beginning September 1, 2008, out of state applicants must have a passing score on the Praxis I. The State Board of Educator Certification has yet to determine the passing score.
