CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Interns will be recommended to be certified as a teacher in Texas if they meet the following requirements:

• Successfully completed training
• Complete university coursework, if required
  
• Any online noncredit coursework as scheduled during the internship
  
• Attend all Follow-Up Training Sessions
  
• Attend all Texas Examinations of Educator Standards (TExES) preparation study sessions
  
• Take the TExES Pre-test and Post-test exams as scheduled by the AC Program
  
• Passing score on the appropriate content area TExES exam
  
• Passing score on the appropriate Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities TExES exam
  
• Passing score on the Texas Oral Proficiency Test (Bilingual, French, Spanish, and Special
• Education with Spanish skills only)
  
• Meet the full teacher appraisal requirements of the state and local district
  
• Fulfill all of the requirements of a full time teacher as required by the state, the district, the
• superintendent, and the principal
  
• Recommended for certification by the school building principal, the mentor teacher, and the ACP
• professional staff
  
• Fulfill any and all other program requirements determined by the AC Executive Director and/or specialists
