Trustee Districts – District 4,
Southeast Dallas/Seagoville
Every school in Trustee District 4 is receiving renovations and/or additions. The district is also receiving a new elementary school Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary School, located near Devon Park.
Representing District 4, Nancy Bingham was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2004 and currently serves as board secretary. A teacher for 32 years and a Dallas resident since 1959, Bingham recently retired from the Mesquite Independent School District where she taught remedial reading, English as a Second Language and honors reading at the middle and high school levels.
Bingham earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and a master of education degree with a reading specialist certification from Texas A&M University at Commerce.
As an active member of the community, Bingham was a member of the Dallas Community Development Commission, and a former member of the Municipal Library Board for the City of Dallas. She has also served as the chairperson for Kleberg/Rylie Library Friends. For 32 years, Bingham was a member of the Mesquite Education Association and the Parent Teacher Association.
As a member of several civic organizations, including the Friends of the Dallas Public Library and the Coalition for the Betterment of Far Southeast Dallas, Bingham was instrumental in bringing city services such as a library and a recreational center to the Kleberg/Rylie area. She is still active in the Coalition for the Betterment of Far Southeast Dallas, and she is also an active member of the North Stark Homeowners' Association.
