As one of the oldest school buildings in Dallas, W.H. Adamson High School received historically sensitive renovations and a new addition. The addition is comprised of 16 classrooms, teachers' office, assistant principal/clerk suite, new restrooms, mechanical/electrical rooms, and circulation areas. The school also received rooms dedicated to musical education, including a band room, an orchestra, space for instrument and uniform storage, practice rooms, and a music library.
Renovation work included: fire alarm system upgrades; a new fire suppression system; upgrades to the electrical system, technology infrastructure, and heating and air conditioning systems; a new roof; and accessibility improvements. The many changes enabled all but two portable classrooms to be removed, improving not only parking, but also the overall appearance of the school.
