Additions and renovations to Birdie Alexander Elementary School in South Dallas were completed in the summer of 2005. In its addition, the school gained four Pre-K classrooms, additional restrooms, mechanical/electrical rooms, and circulation areas. The renovations included: new fire alarm and suppression systems; Americans with Disabilities Act work; upgrades to the electrical system, technology infrastructure, and heating and air conditioning systems; partial roof replacement; and accessibility improvements.
