Renovations to Gabe P. Allen Charter School in West Dallas were completed in the fall of 2005 and focused on addressing health and safety needs within the school. Special attention was placed on compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act by ensuring disabled access is available from the parking lot to the front door of each building. In addition, all wooden windows were replaced with new, energy efficient windows, and the school received: new heating and air conditioning systems and fire suppression system; extensive upgrades to the electrical system; technology infrastructure upgrades; and roof repairs.
