Highland Meadows Elementary School in northeast Dallas, not far from White Rock Lake, is a 91,000-square-foot building with 39 classrooms. It features a two-story entry lobby, which is flanked by the administration area, an auditorium, and a media center that projects into a courtyard and can also be used for outdoor events. The cafeteria, gymnasium, and specialized art and science classrooms overlook the courtyard. Able to accommodate as many as 800 students, the school opened in August 2004 and was dedicated on Oct. 24, 2004.
Highland Meadows
Close to a major crossroad of Dallas – Northwest Highway and Loop 635 – the Highland Meadows Elementary neighborhood is steeped in the tradition in which parent and child often graduate from the same schools. Located northeast of White Rock Lake, this is a community where people of diverse backgrounds live and pull together. The new school is named for the community it serves.
