L.L. Hotchkiss Elementary School, located near White Rock Lake in northeast Dallas, received a 22,148-square-foot, two-story addition featuring 16 new classrooms, a library expansion of 2,170 square feet, and a cafeteria expansion of 2,766 square feet. Renovations included: minor work to improve existing offices; a new elevator; Americans with Disabilities Act work to restrooms and ramps; upgrades to the electrical system and technology infrastructure; and new fire alarm and suppression systems.
The outside appearance and functionality of the school was improved with landscaping, a new parking lot, paving work to accommodate the new building and deal with drainage issues, and new utilities.
