Renovation work to Sam Houston Elementary School was completed in the summer of 2005 and included: new fire alarm and suppression systems; new security system; heating and air conditioning systems; extensive electrical system upgrades; and technology infrastructure upgrades. In addition, some of the school's ceilings were replaced, some minor interior modifications and improvements were made, some doors were replaced, accessibility improvements were made, a new elevator was installed, and roof repairs were made.
