The addition at Obadiah Knight Elementary School, located near Love Field Airport in northwest Dallas, includes a new 28,020-square-foot, two-story wing featuring 14 classrooms, a new second floor library, first floor offices, a health clinic, additional restrooms, and an elevator. Outside, the school's appearance and functionality were improved with a new paved courtyard, a new parking lot, landscaping and paving work, and new utilities.
Renovations to the school included: Americans with Disabilities Act work to restrooms and ramps; upgrades to the electrical system and technology infrastructure; and new fire alarm and suppression systems. Outside, the school received a new drop-off lane on Anson Street and a new fire hydrant on Cortland Avenue.
