Renovations to Thomas L. Marsalis Elementary School in South Dallas were completed in the fall of 2004. The improvements included: Texas Accessibility Standards work to ramps, restrooms, and drinking fountains; a new elevator; critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing renovations to the heating and air conditioning systems and boiler; upgrades to the electrical system and technology infrastructure; and new fire alarm and suppression systems. In addition, modifications were made to indoor ceilings and lighting fixtures, the roof and exterior brick facade were repaired, and additional parking spaces were created.
