  • READING WITH THE PROS

    Dunbar had an exciting day Tuesday,December 9, READING WITH THE PROS! thanks to the Wade Smith Foundation. Wade Smith a former offensive linesman for the Houston Texans, along with his mother, and other former NFL players, Shaun Smith, Patrick Crayton, Dante Wesley, and Akin Ayodele read to our Dunbar Scholars and hosted an assembly program. Additionally, Bernadette Nutall, District 9 Trustee, Dallas Mogul Eddie Deen, and Dallas District 7 Representative Tiffinni Young joined us for an exciting day of reading!! A BIG THANKS to the Wade Smith Foundation, NFL former players, Wells Fargo volunteers, and all participants of this reading event.

  • Dunbar Winter Break Program

    Dunbar's Choir, led by Music Instructor Ms. Demni, performed at our December PTA Meeting. Also on program were the Praise Dancers and Mime performers, led by Instructional Coach, Ms. Horton. The scholars performances were awesome!!

  • Dunbar Hosts District-Wide Annual Geography Bowl

    CONGRATULATIONS to Amiha Young, Marcus Jemerson, Jeremiah Horn, and Taylor Turner who represented Dunbar well during the 1st Annual District-Wide Geography Bowl hosted at Dunbar Saturday, December 6! Out of 151 elementary schools, Dunbar placed 3rd in the competition!! Way to go Jaguars!! Keep up the Great Work!!

  • Storybook Character Day at Dunbar

    Students and staff took part in the Dallas Reads Storybook Character Day, where students and staff dressed up as a storybook character. What can we say? We had fun and we'll do it again for Storybook Character Day 2015!

  • We're Peacock Proud...

    of our Dunbar scholars who participated in the Earning by Learning Fall Program. Dunbar scholars took over 1700 quizzes. Congratulations to top EBL scholar, Julyssa Olguin, who won a bike and helmet for coming in 1st place by successfully passing the most quizzes.

    Hispanic Heritage Drawing Contest 2015  for Youth Ages 7-18
