Is my information confidential?
Because the Dallas Independent School District is a public entity, your application is considered a public document and is subject to disclosure, upon request, whether you apply on a paper document or through the on-line process.
For which positions do I use the on-line application process?
Only use the on-line application process if you are applying for a teaching position.
Should I mail my resume, transcripts and certification/licensure records to the DISD in addition to using the on-line application process?
No. Do not send any paperwork to the district. Any required credentials will be obtained if you are offered employment with the district.
Am I required to provide information regarding Teaching/Non Teaching Experience?
Yes, all information about experience is required. Be sure to complete the Student Teaching Experience area or the Non-Teaching experience area, as appropriate.
Do I need to be certified to apply for a teaching position?
Yes. In order to apply for a teaching position, you must be fully certified with a valid teaching certificate . Persons not certified should contact the DISD Alternative Certification Program or another State Board for Educator Certification approved Alternative Certification Program Internship. You are also eligible to apply once all required information has been provided to the State Board for Educator Certification. In these cases, please choose "Certification Pending" as your certification type.
Will my out-of-state teaching/professional certificate be accepted by the DISD?
Yes. For specific information about out-of-state certification options, please contact the Human Resource Services Department at 972-925-4200 and ask to speak with a Certification Department representative.
