Business Education provides students with meaningful instruction
both for business and about business while being flexible
and adaptable to the needs of industry and society. Students
are provided broad, transferable concepts and competencies
that allow them to enter the job market with the ability to
function in new and emerging technological occupations
as well as to reach maximum potential in higher education.
Skills such as reading, writing, computation and computer
technology expertise comprise the foundation of all Business
Education courses. Introductory and upper-level courses integrate
academic skills and critical thinking skills for a complete
understanding of the functions of business and the implications
for personal life skills. Major tasks emphasize developing
effective oral and written communication, preparing and analyzing
business records, operating appropriate equipment, utilizing
software, and developing necessary knowledge and skills to
interact successfully with others.
