State-Developed Alternative Assessment II (SDAA II)

About the SDAA

State-Developed Alternative Assessment II (SDAA II) assesses special education students in Grades 3–10 who are being instructed in the state-mandated curriculum in an area tested by TAKS, but for whom TAKS is not an appropriate measure of academic progress, even with allowable accommodations. SDAA became a part of the school accountability system in the 2002-2003 school year, and it's now referred to as SDAA II. For more information, visit the TEA SDAA II Resource Center.
