About the WMLS

The Woodcock-Muñoz Language Survey (WMLS-R) is a quick and easy-to-administer screening instrument designed to measure listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency of English language learners. The WMLS-R can aid in deciding program placement for LEP students. It is an excellent measure of Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) with content appropriate for all ages from four years to adult. The WMLS-R is adminstered to students in Grades PreK-12.
