Welcome to the Dallas Independent School District Instructional Technology Department home page! Our goal is to enhance
classroom instruction, increase student achievement, and promote college
readiness as we build teachers', staff, and students' technology skills
through the support and communication of the Technology Application TEKS.
Our goal is to make an impact on student achievement in a positive manner
by empowering the the educational community to be effective, quality users
of current and evolving technologies and to employ those technologies
to create innovative learning environments. We know that teachers who
are skilled users of technology are better at preparing their students
to be self-directed explorers and communicators in a society where change
is the only constant.
This
is accomplished in the following three ways by providing
- hardware and software for instructional use in appropriate Technology
Applications TEKS curriculum-supported computer labs at all
grade levels;
- hardware and software for teachers to use in their classroom. This
hardware/software is typically received after completing training in
designated initiatives; and
- professional development opportunities for teachers on how to develop
technology-rich learning tasks at their grade level or in the subject
that they teach.
The Student Learning Standards for
Technology Applications (all grade levels) can now be found on this
site.
