Star Chart Information

The Texas STaR Chart is a technology self-assessment tool. This tool assists Texas schools and charters in meeting the technology requirements as defined by:

  • Title II, Part D Enhancing Education through Technology program established by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB);
  • the federal Universal Service Fund program, commonly known as the E-Rate program;
  • and the Long Range Plan for Technology.

All teachers at the identified campuses below are required by the state to take the STaR Chart survey. There are no rewards for scoring high or consequences for scoring low. Accurate data is very important. Campuses that have less than 100% completion rate are still expected to have all teachers submit their Teacher STaR Chart.

Campus Password: Principals login as the campus user with the nine digit county district campus number and campus password previously established. The campus ID is 057905 and the campus' 3-digit TEA# (i.e.: 057905001 is Bryan Adams). If the campus password is not known, enter the nine digit campus number in the Forgot Your Password section and the password will be sent via email to the email address of the principal listed for that campus (be sure to check your Junk Mail folder). If principals are still having difficulty receiving passwords, request assistance from Lennie Walker (972-925-8090 or lwalker@dallasisd.org). We do not have passwords for campuses but we may be able to assist.

Obtaining Teacher Username: Teachers should contact the local Principal or Campus Technologist for their STaR Chart username. It is typically a combination of the teachers first and last name separated by a dot or period. More popular names, and names of teachers previously registered on other campuses, will be followed by a number. Examples of possible usernames: tanya.johnson-jones, maria.garza lopez, john.smith or john.smith23

Obtaining Teacher Password: Teachers request STaR Chart passwords by going to http://starchart.esc12.net/Login.aspx. Click on Login and enter Teacher STaR Chart username in the box under "Forgot Your Password?". The email may be found in the Junk Mail folder. The Principal or local Campus Technologist can provide the individual Teacher STaR Chart usernames.
