Why School-based Mentoring?

According to a BBBS survey, of the students involved in school-based mentoring:

• 69% improved their relationships with authority;
• 75% improved peer relationships;
• 69% improved school attendance and;
• 95% promoted to the next grade.

Of the volunteers involved in school-based mentoring:

• 96% agreed that it is a fun volunteer experience;
• 98% said they benefited from the mentoring program;
• 98% would recommend this program to other companies and their employees;
• 95% said they felt better about their company because it supports them in this volunteer program and;
• 89% agreed they had seen a change in the young person they mentored in the program.
