What Is Required of the Mentors?

As BBBS would say, "mentors are required to have been a kid at one point in their lives."

Mentors are asked to volunteer a minimum of one hour per week during the school day for an academic year. This is a school-based program, therefore all mentoring takes place at the student's high school during their lunch period or an elective class. No outside contact is allowed unless it is at a school function (e.g., athletic game, awards ceremony) or if additional screening has been completed?

If volunteers would like to have outside contact with their student (e.g., lunch off-campus, museum, sporting events, college visits), they may sign-up for the "School Plus" program. Volunteers may sign-up for this program at any time during the screening process or during their match relationship. This program is optional.
