Welcome to
Youth and Family Centers
For the past twenty-five years, the Dallas Community has experienced a successful history of providing school-based health care to students in collaboration with the medical community. The Youth and Family Centers, established in 1993, provide school-based physical and mental health care to Dallas Independent School District students and their families. The centers promote the wholeness of the family and engage families in their children's health and education, thereby reducing barriers to academic success.
The Dallas Independent School District and Parkland Health and Hospital System combine resources to provide quality physical and mental health care. The tenth Youth and Family Center opened in February, 2007. Specialized services are also provided to refugee students and their families, including: orientation to public education, family involvement activities, summer enrichment programs, mental health care, and translation/interpreting services.
Our Mission
Youth and Family Centers were created through a partnership to promote and ensure physical and mental health care, as well as other services to children and their families. This partnership utilizes an integrated approach to help students achieve optimal health and maximize school performance.
Dallas Independent School District and Parkland Health and Hospital System have combined resources to provide cost-effective, accessible, quality physical and mental health care services.
