Board Of Trustees Report-January 2007
The Dallas Independent School District continues to experience considerable
growth and exciting academic achievements. The way children are taught has begun to change. Resources have been reallocated to better support student learning, and the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved a budget without a tax increase.
The district has faced many challenges, but the focus remains on student achievement. While the Board of Trustees worked diligently to ensure that district operations
are conducted in an effective and ethical manner, teachers, principals, and administrators continued to impart a quality education to the children of Dallas.
Much remains to be done, however, to meet the higher performance standards set a year ago to make the Dallas ISD the best urban school district in the nation by 2010. The Board of Trustees will continue to work with the community, parents, and district staff to ensure that students graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to become productive and responsible citizens. |
