Schools that closed at the end of the 2005-2006 school year:
- Jimmie Tyler Brashear Early Childhood Development Center
- Robert Cooke Buckner Elementary School
- Daniel “Chappie” James Learning Center
- T.D. Marshall Elementary School
- McMillan Elementary School
- Patton Elementary School
Schools changing from elementary to grades six through eight middle schools:
- Billy Earl Dade Learning Center
- Maynard Jackson Math, Science and Technology Vanguard
- E.D. Walker Elementary School
Schools changing locations:
- Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School will move to 1718 R.B. Cullum Blvd. (previously the site of Daniel “Chappie” James Learning Center)
- Dallas Environmental Science Academy has moved to Sequoyah Learning Center, 3635 Greenleaf St.
- Due to construction delays, Felix G. Botello Elementary School will located at Nolan Estes Plaza, 3434 So. R.L. Thornton Freeway, through the fall semester.
