District Awards for Teacher Excellence

District Awards for Teacher Excellence

  • Performance Targets Results by school

The performance targets were measured based on cross sectional data not cohort data. The accountability subset was used which means that a student had to take the test at the same campus as their PEIMS enrollment to be included in the calculations. The data you see in My Data Portal is not appropriate to use for DATE award calculations.

The math computation score has been added from ITBS for those students who did not have a total score. This allowed inclusion of bilingual students.

All special education versions of TAKS have been added including TAKS-M and TAKS-Alt for Writing as specified in the approved grant application.

The purpose of D.A.T.E. is to award educators for outstanding work above and beyond their normal job duties, specifically for their contributions to improving student achievement.

The D.A.T.E. program has two major components, one emphasizing rewards for student achievement, and one emphasizing successful participation in professional development.

Dallas ISD was awarded $10.5M for district wide distribution.

Part I: 60% percent of the D.A.T.E. funds will be used to award classroom teachers who positively impact student academic improvement and/or growth and/or achievement.

Part II: 40% percent of D.A.T.E. funds will be used to award teachers who attain additional accreditation from a nationally recognized certification.(during the program year).   Additionally, this portion will also fund awards for alternative school teachers who demonstrate positive impact on student achievement.
