PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND BACKGROUND

The Performance Pay Program was a pilot program during the 2007-2008 school year with awards paid in December 2008. The program was available to most campuses district wide for the 2008-2009 school year.  The program continues district-wide in 2009-2010 with several important changes.

Funding issues required changes for 2008-2009 payments.  On June 25, 2009, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved significant changes to the award amounts for this program.  To continue the program at its current payment schedule, additional funding was secured for the 2009-2010 program.  For the 2009-2010 program, funding will be provided from the Teacher Incentive Fund (T.I.F.) and District Award for Teacher Excellence (D.A.T.E.). TIF is a federal grant and DATE is a state grant.

IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR 2009-2010

ALL campus based staff may now participate in the Performance Pay Program.  Staff members who were not able to participate in 2008-2009 because of funding source restrictions are now able to participate.  Counselors, librarians, library media specialists, office managers, clerks, custodians, food service staff and others may now opt in to the program.  (The DATE grant allows payment of these staff members. The previous funding source allowed only teachers and principals.)
