Welcome to "The Reading and Writing Express"

The English Language Arts/Reading Department, Grades 7-12, is pleased to present this new series, "The Reading/Writing Express," as an instructional resource for the District's secondary teachers and students. Each episode features a critical aspect of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and its corresponding assessment on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills.

The episodes may be viewed on videotape, and multiple copies of each have been distributed to every secondary campus. For additional copies, please call (972) 925-4613 or send an e-mail to the link provided below.

It is our sincere hope that teachers will view these segments and choose to share them with their students. Teachers choosing to use the show as an instructional tool could download the materials first, distribute copies to their students, and make the viewing an interactive process. We have made every effort to provide the highest quality materials and to simultaneously make the learning experience fun and rewarding for all audiences.
