and buy milk at school. Applications for free/reduced
meals are available in the cafeteria. Parents and children
(not enrolled at Anne Frank) that wnat to eat with their
student may buy a breakfast or lunch at a higher cost.
Contact the cafeteria for current prices.
MAKE-UP WORK:
All work missed during an absence must be made up within
five school days after the student returns. If the student
fails to complete the make-up work, no credit shall
be given, and the deficiency shall be averaged in with
the other grades as if the student was in attendance.
Make-up work will not be given before the student's
absence. If the student is absent for several days,
parents may call the office before 9:30am on/after the
third day of absence and request the make-up work for
pick-up after 3:00pm.
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES:
Because communication is extremely important to the success
of our students, parents and teachers are requested to
talk regularly about their child's progress. Teachers
are avaialble during their scheduled planning/conference
periods for this communication. Please do not hesitate
to call theoffice or teacher for an appointment whenever
you have a question, suggestion, or concern. Parents who
come without an appointment should be aware of the teacher's
inability to conference with them unless it is their conference
period or before/after school hours. Remember that your
child's teacher needs to spend uninterrupted time in the
classroom to do the best teaching job possible.
In order to maintain a traffic safety program that is
really effective, your cooperation is needed. Our goal
is safety for your child. You can help promote our safety
program by choosing to follow these regulations:
PARTIES:
Only two parties during school hours are planned each
year ( Winter Break and Valentine's Day). Birthday parties
are to be held outside the regular school day.
TEXTBOOKS & LIBRARY BOOKS:
Teachers will assign each student textbooks and provide
book covers for use on those books. Textbooks must be
covered throughout the year. The student's name and section
should be written in the appropriate place of each text.
Students are responsible to the school for the proper
care of textbooks and library books and must pay for lost
or damaged books. Students are required to pay for damaged
textbooks in accordance to the amount of damage. In cases
where the damage is so extensive as to render the book
unusable, the full price wil be collected since it will
no longer be in use. Each student shall return all textbooks
issued to him/her when leaving the school or at the end
of the school year.
VISITORS:
Parents and visitors are always welcome at Anne Frank.
To ensure a smooth running and safe school, anyone entering
the building for any reason must report to the
office and sign in. They must obtain a Visitor's Badge if they
are going to visit in a classroom. Visits in individual
classrooms during instructional time shall be permitted
only with the principal's approval, and such visits shall
not be permitted if their duration or freuqency interferes
with the delivery of instruction or disrupts the learning
environment.
WITHDRAWAL FROM SCHOOL:
If a student moves from one attendance area to another,
or leaves the district, it will be necessary for the student
to withdraw from this school. Records will be sent to
the receiving school. All library books and textbooks
must be returned and the student must be cleared by his/her
teacher(s).
