About Hexter Elementary School
Hexter Elementary was established by the
Dallas Independent School District in 1954, and through the
years has provided thousands of White Rock area children with
an outstanding education
Our school is named for a former president of the Dallas Board
of Education and member of the Dallas City Council. Victor
H. Hexter was born on March 21, 1864, in Baltimore, Mass.
He received his law degree in Memphis, Tenn., and in 1887
moved to Dallas to practice. From the very beginning, Hexter
was interested in the work of his church, civic programs,
and the government in Dallas. He died in Dallas on Jan. 25,
1951.
With the opening of several new district schools through the
bond program, Hexter is once again a neighborhood school.
Our enrollment of 480 students is a perfect size for creating
a small school atmosphere, with outstanding teachers, strong
academic programs, and involved parents!
