are encouraged to become members of the Stonewall PTA.
Your dues directly help our campus. PTA offers programs
and speakers that help parents assist their children in
achieving success
in school.The PTA sponsors more than 30
programs and activities including the Fall Carnival, Mini-Grants
for Faculty, After School Program, Field Day and many more
art, cultural and academic programs. Meetings are held
throughout the school year on the third Thursday of each
month
at 7:00pm.

I would like to welcome everyone to Stonewall Jackson, once described
by the Dallas Observer as “The Crown Jewel of DISD Elementary
Schools” Truly it is so, and for good reason. Stonewall
Jackson has not only last year’s DISD Principal of the Year
and this year’s DISD Teacher of the Year, but we also have
the most dedicated group of teachers, administrators, teacher
assistants and support staff to be found in any school system
anywhere, public or private.
The PTA at Stonewall is one of many things that set us apart
from other schools. Parents are encouraged to support their children’s
education through a multiple of channels by involvement with the
PTA.
The PTA is responsible not only for organizing Room Parents,
volunteers for performances and field trips, money for teachers
and school improvement projects, but also for the financial administration
of our excellent After School Program. I encourage everyone to
join the PTA, parents and faculty alike.
The main purpose of the PTA is to help provide a safe, aware
and secure environment for our children to learn in, and to provide
a means for a closer relationship between our school and homes
so that, “parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently
in the education of children and youth”.
The PTA supports numerous projects through out the year with
both volunteers and funds. This year we will have two major fundraisers.
The first one being INNISBROOK WRAPPING PAPER. This is a great
sale and great source of revenue for us and I encourage everyone
to support it, at any level. The other is the CARNIVAL, our big
event of the year. The Carnival will be Saturday, October 20,
2007 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. I know that everyone will enthusiastically
support this event. All of the funds from these events are given
directly back to the school, the teachers and the children.
It is an honor for me to be a member of the PTA at Stonewall
Jackson and I invite and encourage everyone to join me.
