Business Academies


Banking

The Banking program is a one-of-a-kind opportunity embracing corporate America, secondary education, and college-based experiences. Courses include Money and Banking, Mortgage Lending, Principles of Accounting, and Principles of Real Estate. Students receive dual credit through the Dallas County Community College District while exploring mortgage banking, accounting principles, and real estate concepts in this unique two-year program.

The focal point of the Banking Center is an on-campus bank sponsored by Wells Fargo. Students obtain valuable experience in a nonpaid internship working as managers, personal bankers, and tellers while serving students, faculty, and staff at Townview.

Business Management

Business Management introduces basic management concepts and leadership styles by exploring the managerial functions of planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and staffing. Students learn the economic and social components of productivity, international business, and human relations by understanding the changing nature of the business environment and concepts of business integrity. Students develop and implement business plans by incorporating technology.



Finance (AOF)

The School of Business and Management offers the first Academy of Finance in the State of Texas. The Academy of Finance (AOF), a member program of the National Academy Foundation (NAF), helps to prepare young adults for college and exciting careers within and outside of the financial service industry. Academy students gain a sense of self worth, as well as the analytical, technical and communications skills necessary to succeed by participating in a paid summer internship program.
