The Clinic serves the health needs of the student population at Townview. If your student has a particular health condition or they need to take medication at school, please contact the clinic.
Medication Administration: Students are not allowed to carry medications at school. This includes over the counter medications. There are certain exceptions to this in regards to inhalers for asthmatics with written documentation from the physician. With the proper paperwork and signatures, we can administer prescribed medications as needed for your child at school if a dose is required during school hours.
Release from School due to Illness: If your student becomes ill at school, they must come to the clinic with a pass from the teacher or send for one of the clinic staff. If a student calls a parent on their cell phone (or on their own) to come and get them because they are sick and have not been seen in the clinic, then the parent should check the student out through their school office. The clinic staff cannot write a permission to leave due to illness if we have not seen the student.
For minor ailments, usually the student will be asked to rest in the clinic. For other, more serious ailments, such as fever or possible communicable illness, the student will be sent home with the parent or other person notated by the parent on the student’s enrollment form.
