On behalf of the faculty and staff of Bryan Adams, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the academic future of our school. Bryan Adams is identified as a Stage 4 school by the School Improvement Resource Center (SIRC) and No Child Left Behind (NCLB). As a Stage 4 school, we have developed a restructuring plan for the 2008-2009 school year. Our vision includes the implementation of career pathways to assist our school in making learning relevant. We will offer core courses with emphasis on the college preparation or career direction chosen by your student. We are also planning to institute a dual credit program through the Dallas County Community College District that allows high school students to enroll in college-level classes to earn both high school and college credit.
A Flexible Extended Day is also being considered as part of the restructuring plan. This will give Bryan Adams the opportunity to help improve and maximize the educational opportunities for all students who now must complete four math and four science courses for graduation.
We are excited about the academic changes for the 2008-2009 school year. We hope that you will join us in this excitement at Bryan Adams. |
