Arts Magnet Named One of Eight Successful High Schools by the US Department of Education

Innovations in Education: Successful Magnet High Schools is a new guide recently published by the US Department of Education. The guide names Booker T Washington HS as one of eight high school successes. It is written for poilicy-makers, district and school staff, as well as educators and parents interested in understanding what successful magnet schools offer and how the strategies they use to implement innovative programs canincrease equity and achievement levels for their students. Yearbook Sales have ENDED
The Yearbook Staff thanks you for the purchase of a yearbook for 2008-2009. They are now being designed and will be distributed in May.

Tutoring/Rehearsal Schedules
Tutoring is offered by all academic teachers either before or after school or by appointment. Performance rehearsals are after school. Many art teachers have open studio hours on certain days. Follow the link for current listings for each week.

Teacher of the Month
Principal Fraley has implemented the Teacher of the Month Award, designed to recognize an individual teacher who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Someone who has exhibited leadership, initiative and dedication to students, colleagues and to the school. Teachers may be nominated by anyone on staff as well as parents, students or community members. The BTW Teacher of the Month will be recognized at monthly Faculty Meetings and in the Wall of Fame.
