The Thomas Jefferson High School Orchestra provides students with the opportunity to play music in a performing group throughout their high school career. The instrumentation is standard for a string orchestra, including: violin, viola, cello, and bass.

The goal of the orchestra is simply stated as: "Taking a student where they are, and moving them forward to reach their full potential." This is done in a fun and educational environment. The music performed includes music from both the classical literature to contemporary movie scores.
