Academic Decathlon

The Academic Decathlon is a team competition wherein students match their intellects with other students from other schools. Students compete in ten categories.

Art Club

Primarily a service oriented art group, the Art Club stays busy within the community creating special projects for school events; floats for the Homecoming Parade, decorating and painting for holiday events, etc. Students plan their own fun activities which challenge their imagination and creative talents.

D E C A

DECA is an association of Marketing students. The DECA store is open at lunch and run by DECA members. Students experience roles as cashiers, stockers, and sales people practicing good selling and communication skills as well as leadership skills. Activities include field trips, competitions and trips to state conventions.

FCCLA

Family, Career, Community Leaders of America . A primary objective of the group is to strengthen families within the community and explore new careers. Baby-sitting during Parent Conferences is one example of their activities. Attending the National Conference is also a highlight of membership.

Key Club

A Community Services Club, sponsored by a local Kiwanis chapter. Activities include a Canned Food Drive, a Blood Drive for Carter Blood Bank, and helping out with local elementary schools.

 

Mock Trial

Competing in mock trials as judges or witnesses, students learn about the judicial system.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society is a national organization of students joined together by service, character, and citizenship. Membership is determined by GPA. Other considerations for membership in NHS are leadership, good character, and citizenship. As a NHS member students perform community service projects .
