CELLULAR PHONES, PAGERS, AND BEEPERS

The District prohibits the use of cellular phones and pagers/beepers at all schools during the instructional school day. Middle school and high school students may possess cellular phones and pagers/beepers. However, such devices shall not be visible and shall remain off during the instructional school day.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

A variety of school sponsored clubs, activities, and performing groups are available in each school. Students are encouraged to participate in those that they find interesting. Most organizations engage in community service projects, academic competitions, leadership development, performances, or career exploration activities that enhance the academic and personal growth of students. These activities also build pride, school-spirit, and a sense of community between and among students.

Membership in a club composed of students who take in other members on the basis of the decision of the members, rather than upon the free choice of any pupil in the school who is qualified under the rules of the school, is an infraction of Policy.

Parents/guardians are urged to insist that any organization to which a student belongs is devoted to wholesome purposes and sponsored by responsible adult leaders.
