Admission Process

Admission Applications available on-line:

  • Texas Common Application for Undergraduate Admission to Texas State Universities www.applytexas.org
  • Common Application for Undergraduate Admission to private universities nationwide www.commonapp.org
  • Dallas County Community College District Application
    www.dcccd.edu
  • Tarrant County College District Admission Application
    www.tccd.edu

Documents Required to Complete Most Admission Applications:

  • Official high school transcript with rank in class (class rank calculation)
  • Social security number or school identification number
  • Admission test results (SAT (www.collegeboard.com/?student) or ACT (www.actstudent.org) and TOEFL(www.ets.org/toefl/) if your native language is not English, required of international students)
  • THEA test results or exemption verification (usually based on TAKS, SAT or ACT scores)
  • Copy of the front and back of your Permanent Resident Alien card, if you are not a US citizen
  • Resume or Activity Sheet
  • Application fee or a Fee Waiver Request from the SAT or ACT program (contact your counselor)
  • Essay, if required
  • Admission Interview, schedule an interview if required
  • Recommendation Letters, secure them if required
  • Audition/Portfolio, may be required if applying for a program in music, art or design
  • School picture, if required

Things to Remember:

  • Make copies of all documents submitted, for your records
  • Write neatly and legibly
  • Be aware of deadlines!
