A STUDENT COUNCIL IS:

• The only organized voice students have in the school.
• The one place where students can do something about problems they encounter.
• The only organization in school where students can propose, carry out, supervise, and evaluate activities.
• A practical place for students to learn lifetime skills of being leaders and followers.
• A chance to learn how democracy works - through teamwork, compromise, voting, etc.
• A place where a memeber can prove his/her worth by having a job with privilege and responsibility, and become acquainted with people, efforts, and business outside the school.
