STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

W. E. Greiner Middle School supports the right of each student to learn. Students who disturb the teaching process of any teacher or the learning process of other students will be referred to the school administration for corrective disciplinary action. The school staff and administration will seek cooperation from parents to help students conduct themselves within DISD and school guidelines. Failure to follow guidelines will result in one or more of the following:
  • A parent conference
  • Counselor referral
  • Afterschool or Saturday detention
  • Suspension
  • Removal to an alternative campus for six weeks.

MANDATORY DRESS CODE

Students are expected to be in uniform each school day. The basic uniform shall consist of navy blue cotton twill pants, Dockers, slacks, pleated style walking shorts, skirts or jumpers, and solid white button-up cotton oxford or polo type shirts or blouses with collars and sleeves. Appropriate leg wear consists of standard male or female hosiery (socks) in navy, white, or natural skin tone hose or tights for female students. Appropriate footwear is limited to dress or tennis shoes. All clothing must be appropriately sized and belts are preferred when appropriate. In accordance with Dallas Public School policy, the length of dresses, skirts, and shorts shall be no shorter than "finger tip length" with arms in normal position.

Violations: Students violating the mandatory uniform dress code will be referred to the assistant principal's office and subject to the following consequences:

  • 1st Offense - Warning letter
  • 2nd Offense - Warning letter + Saturday School
  • 3rd Offense - Parent Conference
  • 4th Offense - Suspension
