The W.E.
Greiner Exploratory Arts Academy, located southwest of downtown
Dallas in beautiful Oak Cliff, provides opportunities for students
who have an interest in the fine arts and who wish to develop their
individual artistic talents. Instructors at the academy offer students
professional expertise in the area of their interests.
Students in the academy receive many exciting opportunities and enriching
experiences whether performing in school sponsored programs or attending
professional productions offered throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth
area.
Ongoing collaboration with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra the Dallas
Children's Theater, the Anita Martinez Ballet Folklorico, the Dallas
Museum of Art, the Dallas Black Dance Theater, and The Dallas Opera
further enrich our instructional programs.
Regular middle school program in language arts, math, science, and
social studies, are offered at the academy. A dedicated staff assists
students, through academic teaming, in attaining their potential.
Challenging and stimulating honors in programs meet the needs of academically
talented students.
Creative activities, designed to increase self-awareness and self-expression,
are offered through regular academic classes, talented and gifted
classes, and electives such as Speech, Spanish, Computer Literacy,
Naval Civilian Cadet Corps, Career Investigation, etc. Academy students
are able to participate in National Junior Honor Society, Student
Council, Future Teachers of America, CHAMPS, DAME, and Chess, just
to name a few. Students are also offered the opportunity to participate
in intramural sports.
