TAG - Talented and Gifted Program

It is important to note that many students come to Longfellow already qualified for the TAG program. Incoming 7th graders can indicate on an elective card their interest in the TAG program as an elective. If accepted in TAG, the class will be a year long elective and can not be dropped.

Qualifying for Longfellow's TAG program:

  • Letters will be sent through the Language Arts class to take home to parents to inform them that recruitment for the TAG program has begun.
  • Students who are interested in being in the TAG elective can be nominated by a teacher, counselor or parent. Nominations will be reviewed and students will be set up for an appointment to be tested.
  • Those who were in TAG in grade 6 will be automatic candidates as long as test scores and grades are satisfactory.
