*Seventh and eighth
grade students may elect or be assigned to take a Reading
course. Seventh and eighth grade students who score
at or below the 39th percentile on the reading comprehension
section of the District's standardized norm-referenced
test must take the Reading Mastery course. LEP students
in Advanced and Transitional ESL may take the Reading
Mastery course.

**Students who demonstrate
mastery of the Texas Essentail Knowledge and Skills
of computer literacy on an assessment instrument approved
by the Instructional Technology/Applications Department
may be exempted from the 1/2 unit course.

Please note: Students in grades 7-8
shall be required to take a minimum of 14 total units.

to take Synergistics Lab in 7th grade, and Career Investigations
in 8th grade. See Required
