The Following Events occur yearly
at H.W. Longfellow:

FALL ACTIVITES:
|
- Open House -
September
This is an evening set aside early in the
school year for parents to visit the school,
meet the teachers, and get acquainted with
their child's school schedule.
Fall Dances
Dances are typically held in the gymnasium
during the afternoons.
-
Fall Dances may be a Back to School Dance
where students meet and greet each other
upon returning to school, and/or a Halloween
Dance, and/or a Dance in November close
to the Thanksgiving holiday.
Octuberfest
- Holiday Assembly
- December
- Choir and Band perform seasonal music
for the student body prior to the holiday
break.

SPRING ACTIVITIES:
|
- Black History Assembly
- In celebration of Black History month, students
are assembled in the auditorium by the end
of the month for an informative and inspiring
program which usually includes a guest speaker,
student performances, and guest performances
by the Maureen F. Bailey Choir and African Dance Ensemble from Lincoln High School.

Ice Cream Social
- Students are rewarded for for their hard work and dedication for Perfect Attendance and making the A &B Honor Roll.

- Talent Show
Students and faculty members show off their skills during our annual Talent Show.
- Longfellow Restaurant

Be whined and dined by Longfellow students.
Mrs. Gelwick students prepare delicious
food to be served in a restaurant like atmosphere
in a school classroom. Students get experience
in serving others and food preparation. This
has become a tradition at Longfellow that
you wouldn't want to miss.
- All day Picnic for graduating 8th graders
is held on the school grounds. Barbeque,
music, and games are just part of what is
offered on this very busy day.
- The Graduation Ball for 8th graders is
a formal dress occassion at a local hotel.
The Ball occurs before finals at the end
of the school year.
