John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. Kennedy was a Harvard graduate, Navy hero, respected legislator and Pulitzer prize-winning author. His memorable charge, “Ask not what your country can do for you–ask what you can do for your country” remains a compelling call to community service. He initiated the Peace Corps to further the cause of peaceful, social and economic revolution throughout the world. The Kennedy administration took vigorous action in the cause of equal rights and civil rights legislation, and launched an adventurous space program.
