Obadiah Knight Elementary was named for Obadiah Knight, one of the Dallas County's earliest pioneers. A strong supporter of public education, he donated the land where Obadiah Knight Elemetary School stands at the present time. His descendants continue to actively support education in keeping with family tradition.
