Las Madres del Ballet Mata Parent Volunteers: chaperones for class field trips. Major Awards and Honors

Ballet Mata Awarded seven grants. Program for 4-6th grade students Supported by Texas Ballet Theater All facets of program are offered at no expense to parent (ballet attire, field trips, awards etc) Articles published in the Spanish newspaper Al Dia, Article published in The Neighbors section of the Dallas Morning News Appearence on DSTV School Zone January and February 2006 (Channel 8 and Cable Channel 23). Eduardo Mata (1942-1995) was conductor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra from 1977 to 1993. He was instrumental in introducing DISD students to classical music and preserving music education in schools. He also introduced Dallas audiences to the classical works of Latin American and Mexican composers. He died in a plane crash in 1995.
