F.P. Caillet Elementary was dedicated in 1956 and named for Fluery Paul Caillet, the son of French La Reunion colonists who settled on the sourthern side of the Trinity River. Caillet was a contractor who built many of the early residences on the once-fashionable east Dallas district along Ross Avenue. The famous Texas botanist, Julien Reverchon, for whom Reverchon Park is named, Caillet's uncle.
