Programs and Activities

Special programs:
Our students are enriched through their involvement in art, music, computer technology and physical education. We also involve our students in the democratic process through our Student Council elections. Our Student Council has conducted canned good drives, the Common Cents fundraiser for needy familiies and will also attend the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C. Our Tut Club is another opportunity for our students to become enriched as they conduct an in-depth study of King Tut and culminate with a field trip to visit the museum exhibit. A mentoring program is provided each week through Project Turn Around sponsored by Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church volunteers. We have also introduced the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) for our 5th grade students who are interested in becoming teachers. Finally, our students are encouraged to participate in academic competitions such as Math Olympaid, UIL, Oratorical contest, essay contests, Science Fair and the annual Spelling Bee.

After-school programs:
After School care is provided for working families for a nominal fee of $80.00 per month. The program is available from 3:00 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. and students are provided a snack each day. We also offer interventions for struggling students through our tutoring program and Saturday School.

Extracurricular activities:
Our Dad's Club volunteers sponsor a full athletic program including basketball, baseball and cheerleading. Other extracurricular programs include: Step Team, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Parent Involvement

We have an active Dad's Club which was featured in the November 2008 edition of D Magazine. Our school has a rich history of strong parental involvement and we try to foster that involvement through activities such as: Science Alive Night, Family Math Night, Christmas Reader's Theater Program, Open House programs, PTA, SBDM, Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Grandparents's Day, Thanksgiving Luncheon, Career Day and various parent trainings.
